Shop Floor Tug

Application description: Ideal for material handling in a manufacturing environment. Load Movers can be used to move parts between operations or work cells on the shop floor or for parts movement to and from inventory. Load Movers are much safer than forklifts because they can maneuver in tighter aisle spaces or move material inside small manufacturing cell areas.

Recommended Load Mover Product:  The size of tugger needed depends on the bulk, weight and quantity of parts being moved.   Small parts manufacturers would probably use the Load Mover “Xpress” where a high level of maneuverability is needed and total weight is less than 1000 lbs.   The Load Mover “Xtra” can handle weights up to 20,000 lbs. The Load Mover “Xtreme”, which can handle weights up to 50,000 lbs, may be applicable for heavy industrial manufacturing.    For factories that are doing a variety of different parts or if the weigh increases greatly as the product moves through the fabrication steps, then using 2 or 3 types of Load Movers may be the best option to maximize efficiency.

The battery powered shop floor tug has a variety of attachments and features that make it an ideal choice for moving a variety of parts and sizes.   JIT or lean manufacturing operations often require more frequent material movements in limited space.  The shop floor tugs have the following features:

  • Designed to minimize ergonomic stress
  • Has a variety of attachments to adapt to a lot of uses
  • Easy to maneuver in tight shop floor spaces
  • Requires minimal maintenance
  • On-board battery charger
  • Works all day on a single charge
  • Can be customized for unique needs

Load Movers are safer and more efficient that other products on the market.  Fits any size operator and promotes a comfortable posture.   Material handling in manufacturing has a large number of reported OSHA recordable injuries.  Load Movers can significantly reduce risks of operator injury and product damage.
